ABOUT THE CENTRE ALGARVE

Introduction - 24x7 Special Needs Holiday Trust helping Special Needs Schools, Groups and Families holiday abroad in a safe and friendly environment. Description - The 24x7 Special Needs Holiday Trust was created as a registered UK charity number 1136050 to financially support and assist Special Needs Schools, groups and families. The Trust is constantly looking at ways to raise funds to send people to Centre Algarve for a well-deserved break, turning their wishes into a reality.

Centre Algarve is Europe's only dedicated special needs holiday centre. Centre Algarve is based in the eastern Algarve of Portugal. Its creation allows Special needs families, schools and many other special needs organisations the opportunity to enjoy a holiday abroad for the very first time. This is something that many of us take for granted. The Centre has fourteen bespoke bedrooms of which two bedrooms have fully equipped adjoining hygiene rooms with wet beds and ceiling hoists. The entire ground floor is designed for wheelchair accessibility "with no ramps", and a fully accessible swimming pool with hoist in our relaxation area. The centre also features a petting zoo with paddocks, (including our very own meet the Meerkats experience a safe outdoor children's play area with swings and slides. Within the grounds is our education and discovery centre which includes a soft and sensory room again with hoists, a class room and an American themed diner. And equally important a sun lounge area where guests can freely relax and mix with others.

We receive no funding from the government or National Lottery and are supported by our Trustees and friends of the charity, we raise funds and awareness in a number of ways e.g. Golf Days, Gala Dinners and auctions.
